Funked Up MTHFRs

Funked Up MTHFRs is a hilarious, pearl clutching examination of those hard truths that set us free for the MTHFR Exodus for the Rest of Us from systems we were never supposed to be in.  We know it's the world's worst name for a faith-based podcast, but give it a chance - and see what you learn.

We will discuss politics, history, religion/faith-based concepts, as well as science topics surrounding the MTHFR genetic polymorphism and others associated with DNA methylation, folate metabolism & glutathione production. We will explain these tiny biological systems and how they impact Autism Spectrum Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Addiction, ADD/ADHD/AuDHD, Cardiovascular issues & autoimmune diseases.

This is the last episode for the GREAT BIG APOLOGY SERIES and an expression of remorse over words I said a long time ago. Thanks for taking the time to listen to it. This has been just a huge wrestle fest for a long time, and clearly, I have birthed a whale of a tale.  But it all ends well, not because I believe in fairy tales but because I believe I will see good in the land of the living. This episode still has a little preaching - it's a Sunday after all and it also has some science that might be helpful for you and your family. Things to think about. I didn't say this in the podcast but I don't necessarily recommend the painful thing that happened to me that cleared everything up....but it did work.  Sometimes pain is necessary in healing heart, mind and body.  It was last summer. Thanks as always to my co-producer who is ready for me to rejoing the work around the farm and HUGE THANKS TO MY ALMOND JOY GIRLS who always point me back to the voice of truth. Especially when I get a little worked up.  That just means it's time to be worked ON.Please share this with others, and let's all get ready to learn more soon about the ways we have common ground with others, and how very necessary forgiveness is to achieve true healing.  Shalom!

Welcome back to 6A - a little lighter, a little shorter.  Still covering the events of that day, still making the apology but these are other personal key points that went into what I said that day and also what I did.  Pleading the 4th today. I need a nap, and so do you.  Life happens in a flash though and we better think - think about what we have done, what others have done, what we all need to do together and how fast we need to lay down unforgiveness and pick up healing.  So we better think.Be back in a flash with 6B which has more science about all these concerns, things we need to learn about and consider doing.  A few more questions too. The questions may never stop. Pretty sure my first word was WHY!?!Huge thanks to my patient co-producer of a husband while I walk around screaming and mincing words so I can present this with the heart I have for everyone. HUGE thanks to my Almond Joy girls for holding me up and keeping me strong.  Biggest thanks of all to ABBA who has given me a life I never knew I could have and a recovery I hoped for but really couldn't see through all the tears in the beginning.  Restoration is here and coming girls so hang in there. And listen to Aretha...and sing and dance.

Put your seatbelt on and sit close to an airbag for the wild ride in Ep. 5B. Again, we are covering nearly 120 years, spanning from 1907 to today. Again, not all of the questions asked were answered that day, and many still aren't. Definitely no answers for me for the most important one.  But two MAMAs from Louisiana answered the questions that were asked of them on the spot. Without flinching Jeana Beck Smith and I explained how we were leaving standard medical care for an approach that focused on health and life because the situation was urgent for our kids and we didn't have time to wait and see.
The story weaves through a discovery in 2020 that left my blood running cold until I remembered the blessed assurances we have on our Father.  Because of the way I found this new information after studying this cell line for nearly five years due to its use in other products now on the market, I was greatly alarmed.  And I still am. Because little itty bitty things can funk you up. So it's urgent and I hope you will sit with it and help me find the answers that are ironclad for everyone.
I really have to thank my co-producer for helping us get through this week. I have changed everything around in several of these scripts to accommodate new information or new happenings.  He has helped me out so much.  AND TO MY ALMOND JOY GIRLS - thank you for your prayers and for your dedication to sleuthing in the Word, and not getting involved in monkey business. You are the best.

I love you Chris.  Sorry about the sparkly spanking we got that day. Was fitting though maybe.  WHY? Because the original song was written by a lady named Fanny. I was today years old when I finally realized that. You're welcome.

Told you we would be back fast.  Welcome to Episode 5A, where we will learn more about the little words I was not supposed to say because they might make congressional members uncomfortable.  Well, labor is uncomfortable, so if we want to be delivered, we are going to have to talk about it. There's no such thing as a genetic epidemic, right? There might be a little itty-bitty problem with that statement.
So I have questions that were asked and are still unanswered for the most part. And because they weren't answered, I have more than ever before.
So buckle up for a wild ride today - wear your seatbelt. Safety first!
The BIGGEST of thanks for my very patient co-producer who endured my gazillion edits to this episode, which caused re-recording sessions and my insistance on finding a record scratch for the sound work. And ENORMOUS thanks to the Almond Joy Girls who continue to press in and press on, as we all find things to scream about every day. Your help and your prayers and your research, and love and patience with me too is deeply, deeply appreciated! I could not do this without y'all!

Welcome back to the second part of Uptown Funk. The apology continues as we explain the background that shaped my congressional testimony on April 6, 2000.  I had a lot of questions that day, and they weren't answered. Still aren't.  Still worth answering.  Especially about the few small words I wasn't supposed to say.
The Voice of Truth, the voice that comes from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, tells me a different story. This voice has shaped my life all along and helped me tell my truth that day as best I understood it.  The few little words I put back into my testimony have changed my whole life trajectory and helped me endure the long journey to get here. These were my first steps toward a peace in my life that I guard like a warrior...because it took me decades to get it back.
MAMAs - we can unify. There is a sweet spot. A house divided cannot stand, even if the name of your country begins with united.  We have to find The Way!
Thanks so much to my co-producer for your patience with my struggles especially as I wrestled through these old memories that brought up pain.  Thanks for being the world's most amazing soundboard and for your input on how to stay grounded in my faith. Thanks to the Almond Joy Girls for your hard study and input that keep my feet to the fire. I love the way you swing your swords!

After a ton of wrestling we are back, with Episode 4. Uptown Funk. Highlighting the events of 2000, Judgment Day - April 6, 2000.  This episode is split into Part A and Part B and covering all of the events of this year required three episodes - so 5 and 6 will drop soon, right on the heels of these. Our journey is taking us on a tour through seemingly obscure Louisiana political history, and weaves through personal backstories that culminate in the delivery of a 6.5-minute Congressional Testimony that packed a punch.  And then I got punched as a result in the halls of Congress after I told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth....so help me God.
HUGE THANKS to my co-producer who always gives me great feedback and the Almond Joy girls who help contribute to this in a ton of different ways - all of these people keeping me accountable in their own way.  It is so appreciated.  Thank you for your encouragement. Thank you to those who are listening and following along on this wild ride...there is so much more to come. It just takes a while to get the hooks in right.
So grab a tambourine, kick back and listen and stay funky my friends! Shalom!

Our story expands the events of 1999. Once again, we head off in the time machine, this time with the help of Michael Jackson & Stephen Curtis Chapman.  As you dive in, you will hear a story woven with great expectations that keeps us starting something. This episode includes a ridiculous story about our first trip to DC to meet with the Big Boys.  Fail enough times, and you will succeed eventually. Don't try, and you've already failed.Dedicated to the memory of Jeana Beck Smith & Nancy Cale.  Huge thanks to my friend who recognized the molecule on the mystery van in our logo for her encouragement. Keep listening for clues - more seeds planted for more episodes down the line!

We're back & ready to party like you've never imagined in Episode 2 - Party Like It's 1999, covering Power & Politics and how they shape our perception of the world.
